translation of the above verse says: “But we live
by faith, not by what we see” (2 Corinthians
5:7 CEV)
In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible gives us the best definition
of faith. It says, “Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is
proof that you have what you hoped for. You don’t say,
“I’m trying to ‘faith’ it,” or “I’m trying to get it by faith,”
because faith means you have the proof that it’s yours.
If it’s true faith, you won’t come back to say, “I had faith
but it didn’t work.” Faith means it worked because faith
is the evidence. You can’t have evidence of something
that doesn’t exist. Faith doesn’t try to get or receive
something. Faith claims it has happened because it
has already possessed it!
